TEMA 13 (Trace Elements for man and Animals) will take place in Pucón, Chile, November 9-13, 2008

We are happy to inform that the scientific program of TEMA 13 meeting is complete, with speakers among the best researchers in the TEMA areas (click on "Program" and "Scientific program").

We advise you to register now to take advantage of lower fees. We have raised funds to grant 150 participants fellowships, which will significantly lower the costs of coming. We welcome the many that have already signed in.

Lodging and meals costs - Open fellowships for participants

We have obtained a preferential rate at Grand Hotel Pucón for the 4 nights of the meeting at US$500 in single and US$370 in double. Also, funds from a Chilean government agency will provide 150 fellowships to cover transport (to/fro Temuco airport), hotel meals and social activities ( www.TEMA13.net -click on “Hotel registration”). Requisite for application is to be registered and have an abstract sent. Applications will be received until June 30, and results will be notified by July 15^th.

We encourage everybody to apply to these fellowships by sending an email to fpizarro@inta.cl. This should include an abstract and a short letter requesting the fellowship.

Fellowships for PhD students, post docs and young researchers

Applications are open until June 30, for twenty fellowships that will cover registration fee, meals, hotel accommodations and social activities. To apply please send a one page cv and your abstract to fpizarro@inta.cl Results will be informed on July 15.

Answering some frequent questions:

Pucón is a small lake city about 800 km south to Santiago, the capital city of Chile. Pucon is by Villarrica lake, facing Villarrica volcano. We chose Temuco's airport as intermediate connection because Temuco is the nearest city to Pucón.

You will be arriving to Santiago de Chile through the international arrivals terminal of Commodore Arturo Benitez Airport (Aeropuerto Comodoro Arturo Benitez).

You must change to the domestic terminal (terminal de vuelos nacionales). After going through customs you will exit on the ground floor. Go to the third floor (departing section), coming out from the elevators turn to the right and you will reach the domestic terminal. There you should look for your flight in one of the screens. The Santiago-Temuco flight takes about 1.5 hour.

On Sunday 9^th and Thursday 13^th there will have a free bus system between Temuco airport and Gran Hotel Pucón. If you arrive or leave on a different day you must hire a taxi or van. The trip takes about 90 min.
